It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many, Dr. Alice Lea Robbins. She entered the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, surrounded by family, on Monday, November 11, 2024 at the age of 93 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
She was born Alice Lea Boyd on December 21, 1930 in Larned, Kansas to parents Louis and Fawney Boyd. Alice is preceded in death by her siblings, Edward Boyd and Lois Samuelson.
Alice married her late husband, Richard C. Robbins, in 1957 in Topeka, Kansas. She is survived by their children, Richard (Janet) C. Robbins Jr. and Cyndie (Kevin) Imfeld, grandchildren: Sarah (Dan) McGraw, Rachel (David) Henshaw, Heather (Grant) Benton, Stephanie (Kyle) Pollock and Samantha (Mike) Whitacre, and great-grandchildren: Jackson, Liam, Lily, Ember, Ryder, Trevor, and Everly. Alice joins her granddaughter, Rebecca Lea Robbins, in heaven.
Majoring in Music and Education, Alice graduated from the Southwestern College in Kansas. She obtained a Masters of Education in school administration from the University of Cincinnati in 1972 and a Doctorate of Philosophy from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in 1979. She dedicated 28 years to the Northwest School District in Cincinnati, Ohio as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal.
Alice's life was a testament to her steadfast faith, deep love of Jesus Christ, and devotion to God's glory. She was an active member of College Hill Presbyterian Church where she found strength to persevere among her church family and participated in the choir. She also was a member and officer of the Cincinnati Woman's Club.
Visitation will be held at College Hill Presbyterian Church, 5742 Hamilton Ave., on Thursday, November 21, from 10am until the time of the funeral service at 12pm. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Cincinnati Woman's Club scholarship fund, reflecting her dedication to education and community.
Burial and graveside remembrance will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Larned Cemetery.
