Adelaida R. “Ida” Wilson, 84, of Lyons, Kansas, passed away June 22, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born October 1, 1940, in Hanston, Kansas, the daughter of Antonio and Magdalina (Navarro) Mosqueda. Ida was a lifetime resident of Lyons. She graduated from Lyons High School, with the class of 1958. She had an extensive career in caring for the elderly, which was also her passion. Ida was a lifetime member of St. Paul Catholic Church and the St. Paul’s Altar Society, in Lyons. Ida’s faith was important to her and she always coordinated and participated in the Prolife rosary around the Lyons square each year. She loved animals and most of all spending time with her family. On September 26, 1959, Ida was united in marriage with Donald D. Wilson in Lyons. He preceded her in death on June 18, 2001. She is also preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Manuel Navarro and Bobby Mosqueda. Ida is survived by her four sons, Donnie Wilson (Penny) of Harrah, OK, Ernie Wilson of Lyons, KS, Jimmy Wilson (Yvonne) of Escondido, CA, and Dougie Wilson (Leigh) of Hutchinson, KS; two daughters, Sheryl Silva (Margarito) of Lyons, KS, and Rita Smith (James) of Lyons, KS; sister, Rachel Gonzalez of Lyons, KS; sixteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral mass will be at 10:30 A.M., Friday, June 27, 2025, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Lyons, with Father Michael Brungardt officiating. Burial will follow at the Lyons Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M., Thursday, June 26, 2025, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Lyons, with a rosary at 7:00 P.M. Memorials may be given to Hospice of Reno County or Friends of Animals Rice County in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
