Hutchinson, Kan. – The Hutchinson USD 308 Board of Education Monday approved the annual Head Start Federal Financial report that is required by the Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families. This report is part of the guidelines to receive grant funds.
Related to Head Start, the Board approved an annual memorandum of understanding with Alex Carey through ABC Counseling to provide support groups for the social-emotional needs of children at their SJH, Park Place, and Grandview Head Start sites and at McCandless Elementary School.
USD 308 serves as the grantee for the Reno County Head Start program and as such is responsible for legal and financial accountability for it.
The Board approved revised 2022-23 medication guidelines. Revisions to the guidelines were cosmetic in nature and were done to make the handbook easier to read and navigate. The district reviews this document annually with the nursing team, principals, secretaries and building staff.
A copy of the guidelines is posted on USD 308’s school health information website for student and parent/guardian access. It can be found under the resources tab for health forms at www.usd308.com.
Board members also heard reports from Superintendent Dawn Johnson, and dealt with a number of routine personnel items during what was a brief meeting.
