SCCCF Awards Grants for Several Rice County Projects

RICE COUNTY, Kan. – More than $22 thousand in grants have been awarded for Rice County projects by the South-Central Community Foundation.

Grants awarded include a $5 thousand grant to the city of Sterling for a Fitness Course Playground.

Community grants were also given to the city of Chase, Lyons Middle and High School, Community Presbyterian Church in Chase, the Northern Rice County Food Bank, Little River United Methodist Church, Lyons USD 405, The Rice County Historical Society, the Geneseo Museum, Agewise Living for Sterling Village, Sterling Grade School, and Smoky Hills Public Television.

Teacher grants were awarded to Lyons High School Teacher Andrew Scherer and Sterling High School teachers Wendy Calderwood, Jill Rowland, Sydney Wilson, and Carol Prather.
