(Wichita, KS) – Registration opens July 1 for a statewide virtual entrepreneurship competition for youth in Kansas in grades K-12. The 3rd Annual Kansas Youth Virtual Entrepreneurship Challenge, which was created during COVID-19 shutdowns, as a way for young people to have a platform to publicize their innovative products and services on a statewide platform. More than 140 young people participated in the challenge during its inaugural year.
There is no fee to compete and the top winners in each division receive cash prizes.
Competition organizers are Destination Innovation, Inc., a youth leadership nonprofit organization, and NetWork Kansas, a statewide entrepreneurship ecosystem building nonprofit organization.
“What started as a way to keep young people engaged during the pandemic has become an exciting annual event that takes the traditional competition to an entirely digital platform and a statewide field,” said Margi Ault-Duell, Program and Operations Director, Destination Innovation, Inc. “This is our third year to hold the Kansas Youth Virtual Entrepreneurship Competition, in partnership with NetWork Kansas, and we’re so happy with how the program has grown. We love seeing all the talented young entrepreneurs representing rural and urban communities from across Kansas!”
Competition submissions are due July 28. Judging occurs July 29 through August 4. Winners are announced August 5, according to organizers.
