– Kansas State University will host the Region VI baseball teams for the 2022 NJCAA Plains District Tournament next week.
The tournament at KSU begins on Monday, May 17, and concludes on Friday, May 20, unless an ‘if’ game is needed. That game would be played on Saturday, May 21 at 1pm.
But before any team can head to Manhattan, they have to win one of the eight best-of-three series being played May 11-13 at higher seeds home sites.
Although this tournament has lots of names and lots of games, it always features stand-out performances up and down the bracket. Coming into the opening round on Wednesday, the latest NJCAA poll had Cowley ranked number 9, Kansas City KS number 17, and Barton receiving votes.
But those rankings won’t get a team to K-State’s Tointon Family Stadium – teams have to win opening rounds this week to play on the Manhattan turf. The KSU Wildcats facility seats over 2,300 and boasts the latest in game management technology.
