    IMPACTS
    Heat illnesses may occur due to the high temperatures and high humidity especially for those working or participating in outdoor activities.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.

New Student Enrollment for Buhler USD 313 Happens Tuesday

BUHLER – In-person enrollment for all new students in Buhler USD 313 takes places Tuesday, August 2nd from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at all buildings.

Find links to the needed paperwork and a map of school boundaries here. Required documents for new students include proof of residency, a certified copy of a birth certificate, and a health assessment.  Parents have the option to pay student enrollment fees by cash, check or credit card.

Online enrollment for returning students ends at noon on Monday, August 8th.

In July, USD 313 announced adjusted building start times to accommodate an ongoing shortage of bus drivers. Classes for students at Prairie Hills Middle School will start at 7:45 a.m., with Buhler Grade School starting five minutes later at 7:50 a.m. Buhler High School classes will begin at 8 a.m., and both Union Valley and Plum Creek will start the day at 8:10 a.m.

The first day of school for all students is Tuesday, August 16th.
