HUTCHINSON – On Wednesday, June 29, 2022, the Hutchinson Police Department Special Operations Division with the assistance of the Reno County Drug Unit conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after observing a traffic violation.
A search of the vehicle was conducted and at the conclusion of the investigation Matthew A. Demoura 30 YOM of Wichita, KS was arrested for 1.) Possession of Methamphetamine with intent to Distribute 2.) Possession of Oxycodone with intent to Distribute 3.) Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute 4.) Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with Intent to Distribute 5.) Criminal Possession of a Firearm While in Commission of a Felony 6.) Possession of Xanax and 7.) Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Over 121 grams of meth, 55 grams of marijuana, 142 pills, and a handgun were seized from the vehicle. The pills are suspected to be counterfeit Oxycodone M30’s containing fentanyl.
DeMoura made his initial court appearance Friday morning and is scheduled to be read charges July 8th. He’s being held on bonds of $135 thousand, including two probation violations from Sedgwick County.
