Downtown Partners Announce 2nd Annual Hutch Fall Fest on Sept. 30-Oct. 1

HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Hutch Rec, in a partnership with Downtown Hutch and the Downtown Hutchinson Rod Run, is excited to announce the 2nd annual Hutch Fall Fest, celebrating the Salt City with some of our community’s favorite events, live music, and food – all wrapped into one weekend, Sept. 30-Oct. 1.

Downtown Hutchinson Rod Run – Friday, Sept. 30 & Saturday, Oct. 1

The weekend kicks off on Friday with the 15th annual Downtown Hutchinson Rod Run & Classic Car Show. Activities start Friday and go through Saturday and feature a Show & Shine of hot rods; a Main Street Cruise; vendor demonstrations; live music; food trucks; children’s activities; and much more. The Salt City Vintage Market will also take place on Saturday starting at 9 a.m. in DCI Park, 2nd & Main.

Individuals interested in registering a vehicle or motorcycle to participate in the Rod Run may do so by visiting downtownhutchrodrun.com. Pre-registration is going on through Sept. 26.

Free Family Movie Night in DCI Park – Friday, Sept. 30 at 7:30 p.m.

Friday night’s entertainment includes a free Family Movie Night, presented by PrairieStar Health Center. Families of all ages are invited to bring blankets and chairs and enjoy the classic “Grease” on the lawn of DCI Park (2nd & Main) starting at 7:30 p.m.

Salt City 5K/10K – Saturday, Oct. 1 starting at 8 a.m.

Hutch Rec hosts the Salt City 5K/10K races, presented by Salt City Brewing Company. Runners and walkers will race through Downtown Hutchinson, starting and ending at Salt City Brewing, 514 N. Main St. The 10K event starts at 8 a.m. while the 5K event starts at 8:15 a.m. Registration is open and can be done online at hutchrec.com or in person at Hutch Rec Downtown, 17 E. 1st.

Brewfest: A Craft Beer Festival – Oct. 1 from 2-6 p.m.

Also on Saturday is the Hutch Rec Foundation’s Brewfest: A Craft Beer Festival, presented by First Bank Kansas. Brewfest takes place from 2-6 p.m. in front of Hutch Rec Downtown on First Avenue. Participants will enjoy craft beer samples from Kansas breweries. Tickets for Brewfest are available to purchase online at hutchrec.com or in person at Hutch Rec Downtown, 17 E. 1st.

Additional Activities on Saturday, Oct. 1

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Hutchinson are hosting the annual Judy’s Mile Fun Run/Walk, starting at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. This one-mile fundraiser starts and ends in front of DCI Park, 2nd & Main. For more information or to register, visit bgchutch.com.

In the afternoon, Hutch Rec’s Sports Division is hosting a Cornhole Tournament, presented by Cris Corey – State Farm Insurance. The tournament starts at 4:30 p.m. in the Chester I. Lewis Plaza, next to Hutch Rec Downtown at 17 E. 1st. Pre-registration is required for two-person teams, and can be done through noon on Sept. 30 at hutchrec.com.
