Cosmosphere Offering Free Summer Admission to Military Families and Kansas Kids



HUTCHINSON –
Two summer programs provide free admission to Cosmosphere’s Hall of Space Museum.

Blue Star Museums,
 a program of the National Endowment for the Arts and Blue Star Families, offers free admission to the Hall of Space for active duty military personnel and their families. The program begins Armed Forces Day, May 21, 2022 and continues through Labor Day, September 5, 2022. 
Blue Star Museums is available for active duty United States Military, Reserves or National Guard personnel and up to five family members. Qualified members must show a Geneva Convention common access card (CAC), DD Form 1173 ID card (dependent ID), or a DD Form 1173-1 ID card for entrance into a participating Blue Star Museum.

Adults with military ID–both veterans and active duty–receive year-round discounts on all Cosmosphere attractions.

Sunflower Summer
 provides school-aged kids and up to two accompanying adults access to Cosmosphere’s Hall of Space Museum at no charge. May 28 through August 14, 2022, students ages 4-18 and up to two adults per student can receive free admission through the Sunflower Summer app.

Sunflower Summer is a program of the Kansas State Department of Education. To get started, parents and guardians need to download the Sunflower Summer app free from either Google Play (Android) or Apple (iOS) app stores. 

As an added “thank you,” Sunflower Summer guests receive 10% off their purchase in Cosmosphere’s gift store (autographed items not included).
