The City of Hutchinson officially celebrates 150 years as an incorporated city in August 2022. To celebrate, the City, along with Reno County – who celebrated 150 years in 2021 – as well as Hutch Rec, the Hutch Chamber, and the Reno County Museum, are uniting to host a special community-wide event this summer.
Hutchinson and Reno County residents are invited to a Community Spirit Block Party on Aug. 18. This special 150
celebration will include 12 block parties on Main Street, from Avenue C through 9
Avenue. Festivities will take place from 6-9 p.m.
Event partners are asking for community involvement with each of the 12 block parties and are seeking civic groups, businesses, and organizations to help host a block party. Block party hosts are invited to let their creativity shine as they will be responsible for the development of their block’s festivities and celebration. Event partners will assist in the coordination of each party.
Civic groups, businesses, and organizations interested in hosting may pick up a Host Submission Form at Hutch Rec Downtown, 17 E. 1
