HUTCHINSON, Kan. – The K-Ready Coalition is inviting employers and community partners to a free virtual webinar at 12 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 22 to learn the current state of childcare in Reno County. Speakers will discuss what’s on the horizon and what can be done now to solve the ongoing childcare crisis.
“We know that childcare is an important issue for our employers and families in the community,” Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber President Debra Teufel said. “Families have to have quality childcare in order to be able to go to work, and employers have really noticed this becoming a critical issue, especially since the pandemic.”
Hear from the area’s leading experts on childcare needs, including:
- Alexa Wiens, Abundant Life Community Child Care Center
- Ashley Webster, Kansas Child Care Training Opportunity
- Bradford Wiles, K-State Research and Extension
“Attracting and training our young people is important, but we also need to knock down the barriers that prevent people from joining the workforce,” Teufel said.
Registration is free and available through the Chamber’s website.
