Burrton USD 369 Names New Superintendent

Burrton – The USD 369 Board of Education has announced the selection of Kara Schwindt, as the new superintendent. Schwindt will take the reins on July 1, 2022, after the departure of Joan Simoneau at the end of the 2021-2022 school year.

Schwindt brings a broad educational experience, having previously been Director of Literacy at Haven USD 312. She has also spent time as a teacher in the Valley Center and Garden City Districts.

Board President Karl Matlack said that Schwindt emerged from a very thorough search process as the right candidate to lead the School District. “The Board is certain in our choice of Kara Schwindt and confident that under her leadership USD 369 will continue to thrive,” he said.

Matlack explained that community input, including the involvement of stakeholders was a key factor in the success of the superintendent search process. The survey included teachers and administrators, parents, and community members. “The input from the community as a whole was very helpful to our process,” he said.

Schwindt was selected from a pool of two finalists.
