BUHLER – Due to a severe shortage of bus drivers for the upcoming school year, Buhler USD 313 will implement a staggered start time schedule.
Changes were approved by the Board of Education during their Monday night meeting.
Prairie Hills Middle School will have the earliest start time at 7:50 a.m. and a dismissal time at 2:50 p.m. Buhler Grade School will start and dismiss five minutes later than Prairie Hills. Buhler High School will Start at 8:00 a.m. and dismiss at 3:05 p.m., and Plum Creek and Union Valley Elementary Schools will start at 8:10 a.m. and dismiss at 3:15 p.m. The transfer bus from Buhler to Prairie Hills will depart at 7:25 a.m. and arrive at 7:40 a.m.
“We recognize this could have both positive and negative consequences as parents and staff plan their day,” Superintendent Cindy Couchman said. “This decision was made after all alternatives were considered and with input from representatives from various stakeholders.”
Families in need of busing will need to complete a transportation request form during online enrollment, even if you completed the preliminary survey the district sent out earlier in the month.
