HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Feeding the hungry isn’t a job for just one church. It takes a group of friends who believe that together we make a difference. For the fifth consecutive year, there will be a Thanksgiving Food Drive called “We’ll Leave Our Lights On.”
Sanctuary lights will shine in 24 Hutchinson area churches on Wednesday, November 16th, from 5 – 7 p.m.
The Food Bank of Reno County suggests the donation of these items: Hamburger Helpers, pasta and pasta sauce, peanut butter, jelly and jam, saltine crackers, mac & cheese, dry cereals, instant oatmeal, canned meats, canned fruits, canned soups, instant potatoes and instant rice, and pancake mix & syrup.
The donated foods will benefit both the St. Vincent de Paul pantry and the Reno County Food Bank. Donations may be brought to any participating church.
Participating churches include:
Cedar Crest Amish Mennonite
Center Amish Mennonite
Community Church of the Brethren
First Church of the Nazarene
First United Methodist
Holy Cross Catholic Church
Living Hope FWB
New Covenant Presbyterian
Park Place Christian
