Windy & milder on the Plains; a more typical December feel across the Midwest Corn Belt

SHARE NOW

Across the Corn Belt, cool, blustery weather lingers in the wake of a departing storm system.  Monday morning’s low temperatures dipped below 10°F in parts of the far upper Midwest, including eastern North Dakota.  Farther east, snow showers are occurring downwind of the Great Lakes, keeping final harvest efforts at a standstill in much of the eastern Corn Belt.

On the Plains, mild weather is maintaining mostly favorable conditions for overwintering wheat, despite the absence of a protective snow cover.
