Wide-ranging temps ahead to fuel and more active pattern for the Heartland

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of above-normal temperatures in most areas east of a line from New Mexico to Michigan, while colder-than-normal conditions will cover the northern Plains and much of the West.

Meanwhile, near- or above-normal precipitation across most of the country should contrast with drier-than-normal weather in southern sections of the Rockies and Plains.
