The Wisconsin State Senate said no to appointing Jerry Halvorson to the Livestock Siting Review Board.

Halverson is a retired Manitowoc County conservationist and has over 35 years of experience.  Senator Dianne Hesselbein urged fellow Senators to confirm Halverson saying, “In his professional capacity, he was the lead administrator in successfully implementing livestock siting in his county. In addition, Halverson served on the 2010, 1014, and 2018 livestock facilities siting technical expert committees.”

Kim Bremmer with Venture Dairy Cooperative tells Brownfield agriculture groups and Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce opposed Halverson’s appointment based on his past opposition to the statewide livestock siting law.
