Soybeans were modestly higher on short covering and technical buying after a lower start to the session. The trade is anticipating potential harvest delays later this week in some areas. The USDA says 86% of U.S. beans are dropping leaves and 23% is harvested, both ahead of the respective five-year averages, while 52% of the crop is in good to excellent condition, up 2%. China bought 132,000 tons of 2023/24 U.S. beans despite officially being on holiday for Golden Week.
