South Dakota corn and soybean harvest begins

Corn and soybean harvest are getting started, mostly in-line with the usual pace.

USDA says 5% of the corn is harvested with the crop rated 42% good to excellent and 2% of the soybeans are harvested with beans rated 46% good to excellent.

Winter wheat planting is at 34% complete in the state.

43% of the sorghum crop is maturing, ahead of average for this time of the year with the crop rated 57% good to excellent.
