Soil health top of mind as harvest continues

A farmer from central Missouri says he is optimistic for a better than average soybean crop this fall, but the drought has affected the corn.

Neal Bredehoeft tells Brownfield harvest is underway.

“Some of the corn got hurt from a lack of moisture and the heat and on the thinner ground, the crop isn’t going to be as good as usual.”

He is also a director on the United Soybean Board and says signup is available for a new soil health program through Farmers for Soil Health.
