SHARE NOW

Red meat in cold storage levels swelled during July. That could lead to some concerns about demand, with this year’s production falling below last year most months.

The USDA says red meat supplies on August 1st, 2022 was 1.069 billion pounds, 23% above August 1st, 2021, including a record large August 1st supply for beef at 510.841 million and a 20% year-to-year increase in pork to 530.097 million pounds. Pork in cold storage included an all-time August 1st high for ribs.
