Many of Ohio’s crops had noticeable progress in the past week. Farmers benefited from widespread rainfall which improved soil moisture and helped the crops. USDA’s statistician Cheryl Turner says 68% of topsoil now has adequate moisture and 11% has surplus moisture.
Fifty-five percent of Ohio’s corn is now silking with 8% in the dough stage. Fifty-five percent of the crop is in good to excellent condition.
Sixty-five percent of the soybeans are now blooming with 27% setting pods. Overall, 54% of the soybean crop is in good to excellent condition.
