The USDA says dry weather has caused early signs of crop stress in Ohio.
Corn planting is wrapped up, with 95 percent of the crop emerged. Forty-nine percent of the state’s corn crop is rated good to excellent.
Ninety-six percent of soybeans are planted, compared to the five-year average of 94 percent. Eighty-five percent of the crop has emerged, with 49 percent rated good to excellent.
All of the state’s winter wheat crop has headed, and 70 percent is mature.
