Northern Minnesota farmer: “worst crop I’ve ever had”

Farm to farm crop variability was especially evident in northern Minnesota this year.

Jim Kukowski grows soybeans and wheat in Roseau County and says some of his neighbors had record yields.

“The biggest bumper crop they’ve had, and I happened to be in a real bad spot. We got .3 of rain basically all summer (and) I’m not complaining, but this was probably the worst crop I’ve ever had.”

He grows seed beans and wheat and tells Brownfield his plans for 2024 won’t look much different.
