Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or above-normal temperatures nationwide, except for cooler-than-normal conditions in parts of the south-central U.S.
Meanwhile, below-normal rainfall from the northern Rockies and Intermountain West into the upper Great Lakes region should contrast with wetter-than-normal weather in parts of Washington State and from the southern Rockies to the Atlantic Coast, including the southern half of the Plains, mid-South, and lower Midwest.
