The head of Michigan Corn says recent rains have caused little impact on Michigan’s harvest.
Jim Zook tells Brownfield, “Especially with this weather that we’re seeing, we’ve almost had a perfect fall, the warm weather that we’ve seen prior to the rainy spell, but I believe that this is going to help accelerate our harvest.”
He cautions growers to look for quality issues if ears start retaining moisture.
“Make sure that we don’t have any vomitoxin issues going on—we don’t at this point,” he says.
