A state climatologist with the University of Missouri Extension says the spring weather outlook includes an above normal chance for rain in Missouri.

The state has received some rain this week and Zach Leasor tells Brownfield a break from the dry conditions should continue over the next two weeks.

“We hope for that to continue through March and April, but beyond that period is when we start to introduce more uncertainty.”

Leasor says the spring rains might cause some planting delays, but the additional moisture will be valuable to the soil.
