Michigan harvest slow to advance

SHARE NOW

Warm dry weather helped Michigan crops dry down last week but harvest remains behind average.

As of last Sunday, the USDA says corn is rated at 51 percent good to excellent with 92 percent dented, and 35 percent mature.  Seven percent of corn has been harvested for grain and 67 percent for silage.

Soybeans are 73 percent dropping leaves and five percent harvested with 49 percent of the crop in good to excellent shape.
