Mexico headlines what is expected to be another strong year for U.S. pork exports

The National Pork Board expects Mexico to remain a top export market for U.S. pork.

Vice president of international market development Courtney Knupp says Mexico was the top value and volume destination in 2023.

“And they set new records in both categories. About one of every four sales will go into Mexico for us, and of course that’s a lot of primal (cuts) like ham. But we’re really diversifying the demand in the Mexican government for primals like the pork loin.”

She tells Brownfield pork exports are off to a strong start in 2024.
