A southwestern Indiana farmer says crop conditions are inconsistent after this growing season’s weather.
Ben Kron says his soybean crop is showing signs of stress after an eight-week dry spell was followed by a 10-inch rainfall.
“The soybean crop cannot handle water standing on it at all and we’ve got some fields with probably 60 acres drowned out now,” he says.
He tells Brownfield “overall, on our soybeans on a farm average, we took at least 10 bushels off the top from everything we’re going to lose.
