Illinois farmer on harvest: “So far, so good.”

A north central Illinois farmer says corn and soybean harvest have both kicked off in his area, but he predicts activity will really ramp up at the beginning of October.

Ross Pauli who farms in Peoria County tells Brownfield he started corn this week and he expects yields to vary depending on which fields received timely rains.

“The corn we’ve picked is running about 225 bushels per acre, which is right around our average.
