At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, live cattle were mostly higher watching the rest of the week’s direct cash business develop. Feeders were lower, pressured by Friday’s mostly higher move in corn. February live cattle closed $.17 higher at $157.72 and April lives closed $.02 lower at $160.90. March feeders closed $1.40 lower at $182.87 and April feeder cattle closed $1.35 lower at $187.05.
It was an active Friday for direct cash cattle trade across all three major feeding areas.
