The president of the National Farmers Union says it’s extremely important the new farm bill is prioritized in the New Year.
“The landscape becomes almost impossible if we get into summer.”
Rob Larew tells Brownfield a political gridlock happening in the House and Senate could make passing a farm bill difficult task to accomplish.
“The real question: will there be the time, opportunity and political will to get the bills across the floor?”
Larew says there are many questions about what’s included in the bill, but he’s not expecting to see a public draft until a path forward for the bills can be solidified.
