Cold wave to gradually ease next week across the Heartland; active weather pattern to ease, as well

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or below-normal temperatures and precipitation across most of the country.  Warmer-than-normal weather will be largely limited to California and the Desert Southwest.

Meanwhile, wetter-than-normal conditions should be confined to Florida’s peninsula, Deep South Texas, northern sections of the Rockies and High Plains, and areas along the Pacific Coast as far south as central California.
