CME milk futures, cash dairy mostly higher Wednesday

Milk futures were higher across the board and the cash dairy markets were steady to higher Wednesday, except for nonfat dry milk on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. 

March Class III milk was up $0.08 at $16.52.  April was up $0.42 at $16.19.  May was up $0.45 at $16.77.  June was up $0.47 at $17.51.  

July through January contracts ranged from unchanged in January to thirty-nine cents higher in July.  Wednesday’s Class III trade volume was 1,982 contracts. 

Dry whey was up $0.01 at $0.43.  No sales were recorded.  

Forty-pound cheese blocks remain unchanged at $1.4350.  No sales were recorded. 

Cheese barrels were up $0.01 at $1.43.  One sale was recorded at that price. 

Butter was up $0.0075 at $2.84.  Three sales were recorded, ranging from $2.84 to $2.85. 

Nonfat dry milk was down $0.0075 at $1.1625.   One sale was recorded at that price.
