Iowa Ag Secretary Mike Naig says cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza have slowed dramatically.
“The fact is, we haven’t seen a positive case in the state of Iowa now for nearly a month,” Naig said. “The last commercial site was positive back on April 20th, and so we feel like we have definitely rounded the corner.”
He tells Brownfield several quarantines have been lifted. “We know that some of those infected premises that we had early on that they have been able to restock birds,” Naig said.
