Ag transportation uncertainties rise

A growing list of transportation challenges is threatening the ag industry.

American Farm Bureau President Zippy Duvall tells Brownfield supply chain disruptions are mounting for farmers. “The water level in the Mississippi is low, we can’t find enough truck drivers, there’s not enough labor out there, and we are still having some problems at the port,” Duvall said.

He says the looming rail strike couldn’t come at a worse time. “Our farmers got their crop in the bin now, and they are moving it along and moving it out,” Duvall said.
