    Heat index values of 100 to 105 expected during the afternoon hours.

    Portions of Central, South Central and Southeast Kansas.
    WHEN
    From 1 PM this afternoon to 8 PM CDT Wednesday.
    IMPACTS
    Hot air and high humidity may cause heat illnesses to occur.
    ADDITIONAL DETAILS
    Stay well hydrated to reduce the risk of heat related illnesses. Avoid working outside during between 1 PM and 7 PM if possible.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.

***NEW THIS YEAR – We are changing up our walkabout a little bit this year in an effort to include more Downtown Hutch businesses! This year, we will have around 20 venues and you will get to pick which 13 venues you stop at!
Stroll through local businesses in Downtown Hutch and sample a variety of red and white wines from vineyards across the U.S. – all carefully paired with hor d’oeuvres from local restaurants. This is a great opportunity to try new wines that you may not have ventured out to trying yet and also sip some of your favorites….all while supporting a great cause!
Tickets are $50 per person and go on sale 7/15/22. Must be 21 to participate. Only 300 tickets available and they typically go quickly!
