On November 24, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., the Rice County Historical Society will hold its Annual Meeting at the Rice County Historical Society/Coronado Quivira Museum. The event will start with a short business meeting and conclude with an entertaining presentation by Paula Eigsti.
Mrs. Eigsti’s program is entitled “Legacy – Shoes Tell the Story.” During her program, Mrs. Eigsti will match shoe styles with Biblical characters. Over the years, Mrs. Eigsti picked up unusual shoes at
various thrift stores. Several years ago, she decided that she needed to do something with her thrift store purchases. In 2023, she began giving her presentation about what kind of shoes a specific Biblical character might wear. The forty minute program is intended to be fun and entertaining.
Mrs. Eigsti is a retired Haven Elementary School teacher. Also, she has been a marriage/family counselor in the Hutchinson community. After retiring, she visits her three children and seven
grandchildren and travels. Mrs. Eigsti was raised in North Dakota.
The free program is open to the public. It will be held at the Coronado Quivira Museum which is located at 105 West Lyon, Lyons, Kansas.
