Mural Book Club Little House on the Prairie

As Lindsborg Community Library explores the book titles incorporated into the mural on the east side of the building, this summer’s deep-dive explores the love of the book by Laura Ingalls Wilder: Little House on the Prairie.

Loved by many generations, Little House on the Prairie is the third book in Wilder’s Little House series and describes their trip from Wisconsin to the prairies of Kansas.

Due to the popularity of this book, a replica of the Ingalls’ home was constructed in Indepence, Kansas, the area where the Ingalls family settled. The Little House on the Prairie Museum includes the home as well as “an authentic one-room school from the 1870s and the original, turn-of-the-century post office from nearby Wayside.”
