Glenn Schafer and Kelly Frigard will be the artists-in-residence at the Red Barn Studio Museum through the month of September.
Schafer of St. Paul, Minnesota, will be creating a series of small photographs paired with single lines of poetry during his residency of September 3-17.
With a deep background rooted in the normalcy of everyday life on a small family farm, Schafer’s work emphasizes the importance of being present in the moment.
A reception for Schafer will be Sunday September 15, 2:00-4:00pm.
Kelly Frigard will return to the Red Barn September 20-29 after a 17-year absence.
She currently resides in New Richmond, Ohio, and brings her background of fiber arts with a new focus on traditional wool rug hooking to the studio.
Frigard’s interest in rug hooking began after taking a weeklong workshop at the John C. Campbell School for Crafts. Since then, she has crafted three animal-themed rugs, each taking about four months to complete.
