Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement

New analysis shows progress in improving the water quality of the Great Lakes.

The Environmental Protection Agency and Climate Change Canada filed the report, which provides a summary of the health of the Great Lakes.

The parties describe success implementing the Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement, which is credited with removing nearly 1.3 million cubic yards of contaminated sediment.

EPA Administrator Michael Regan says through strong partnership with Canada and additional Great Lakes Restoration Initiative funding from the bipartisan infrastructure law, the commitment to safeguard this shared treasure for present and future generations remains.
