Farmers and ranchers have until February 6th to fill out the 2022 Census of Agriculture.
Lance Honig with the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service tells Brownfield the survey helps the agency make policy decisions.
“Things like farm and conservation programs,” he said. “Think about infrastructure. Where do companies need to build facilities? Where do they need to distribute their products? They need good data to base those decisions on.”
He says farmers can feel confident their information is protected.
