Pipeliners 3-Game Winning Streak Snapped by Walnuts

McPherson, Kan. – The McPherson Pipeliners were able to extend their winning streak to three games on Friday, defeating the Midwest Moos 5-4. Sunday against the Walnuts, their winning streak would come to an end after 10 innings.

The Pipeliners would be held scoreless a majority of the contest, as the Walnuts would take a 2-0 lead after the fifth. After both teams failed to score in back-to-back innings, the Pipeliners would get on the board in the eighth as Fidel Hatch would score on a wild pitch. Jaron Brown would score moments later on a sacrifice fly, off the bat of Malikai Wickley, tying the game at 2-2. After a scoreless ninth, the Walnuts would bring in the winning run in the tenth, defeating the Pipeliners 3-2. 

The Pipeliners will finish the regular season this week with two on the road beginning Monday at 7 p.m; as they will travel to Goddard to take on the Kansas Curve. Wednesday they will conclude the regular season in El Dorado against Walnuts.
