MMS Tennis Team Remains Undefeated With 1-Point Win in Dual with Andover

MPHERSON, Kan. – The McPherson Middle School Girls Tennis team was able to edge Andover on Tuesday to remain undefeated, winning their dual by just one point.

Head Coach Paul Reichenberger said, “Today, the girls showed a ton of grit earning a well-deserved win against Andover. All afternoon, the girls battled the heat and a tough opponent. Each girl stepped up her game today and helped the team earn a victory tonight. I am very proud of the way this group of girls worked hard and gave it their all tonight.”

Singles winners include; Dragon Rodriguez, Audra Sandbo, McKenna Paul, Quinn Liebl, Piper VanCampen, and Sophie Boese. The singles would tie 6-6, and it would come down to doubles, where the Pups would take 4 of the 7 doubles matches 4-3, as they would go on to win the dual 10-9. Doubles Winners include; Avery Unruh/ Quinn Liebl, Audra Sandbo/ Dragon Rodriguez, Emily Reno/ Hayden Eveland, and Anne-Marie Holmes/ Sophie Boese.

Coach Reichenberger concluded by saying, “Their desire to get better and love for tennis is spreading across the team, which makes it very enjoyable to be their coach. We will look to continue our unbeaten season on Thursday against Derby.”
