CHENEY, Kan. – Buhler golf finished fourth on a familiar Cherry Oaks course Monday as part of the Andale Invitational.
The Crusaders’ 395 round placed them solidly ahead of fifth place Andale and just one stroke shy of third place Augusta. Wellington won the tournament with a 362.
It was Buhler’s best team score so far this season.
“We still haven’t played our best team golf yet,” head coach Brennan Torgerson said. “We have had two-three players play well, but not all four at the same time.”
Marlie Cooper medaled in eighth place, posting an 18-hole, 88. Elise Gover’s 97 put her 13th in the final standings. Crislyn Frank, who shot a 102, also earned a top-20 finish.
“We will continue to work to get better heading into post-season,” Torgerson said.
If all those pieces come together, Buhler figures to have a solid shot at a return to state.
The regular season wraps up with tournaments at Hutchinson on Thursday and next Tuesday at League in Hesston.
